Top Ten New-To-Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015

  1. It’s hard to believe it’s only been a year, but the wonderful S. Usher Evans was one of the first “new to me” authors of 2015. I think I read Double Life on New Year’s! [Review]
  2. Kelsey Macke quickly became a favorite [local!] author when I read Damsel Distressed. [Review]
  3. Julie Kagawa for the Blood Eden series, even though I still need to read the third one. [Review]
  4. Christina McMullen. I read Kind of Like Life this year, and I look forward to seeing her other works (some of which are already on my kindle). She is also local. [Review]
  5. Rainbow Rowell. I listened to Eleanor & Park over the summer, and instantly fell in love. [Review]

I’ve read more authors than listed above, but they were some I’ve read before. Here are four authors that I hope to read and expect to love before the end of 2015

  1. Heather Letto
  2. Jenna Nelson
  3. Emmie Mears
  4. GS Jennsen

  1. Ahhhhh, Rainbow Rowell! I have found another of her faithful unicorns to fangirl with. Let us have a moment of appreciation for her beautiful characters, and a moment of FRUSTRATION for her disappointing endings. *bows head*

  2. There’s always something exciting about reading local authors, especially when the book is set locally!

How do you like audiobooks? I feel like I can never quite get into them–they’re too slow for my preferred reading pace.

  3. Love love loved Eleanor and Park! It’s great to see you liked it too! I’ve been meaning to read Usher Evans’ novels as I’ve been following her on Twitter for a while and gahhhh… TIMEEEEE. I’ll pick it up though once I get the time! Nice list!

    1. I love Evans! I got to meet her over the summer. Not only are her books good but I just love her as a person!

Eleanor and Park was so good. I love when a book has a good voice, and it had two!
